- Clean the mess ASAP- make sure that you clean off the initial mess as fast as you can spot it. If it is fresh, you can blot piss with paper towels, and scrape off solid waste with a scoop. Let the spot dry, or the scooped surface dry up. Go after it with an enzymatic cleaner to break down the organic compounds in the surface.
- Change the litter box – The litter box is a source of funny smells in the house. Pet waste should be cleared as soon as it is spotted. You can put it in a polythene bag, but the better option would be to use a biodegradable bag. This will absorb some of the smells, blunting the bad odors.
